1994 Honda vfr750 rc36. 62k km needs a front left panel, a battery and a set of tires.
$600. Yes I stole it.
Aside from the one panel that's fucked the bike is MINT

That’s about the last year for those, right?
I love the look of the earlier RC30, this is something I dream of finding in mint condition and keeping as a preservation piece. Dual round headlight sportbikes have always pushed my buttons:
Yes, please:
Although I suspect at 6'1" and ~200, I wouldn’t fit right.

Yea, I’d say you stole it. I see completely disassembled who knows what condition anything is in bikes for around that on CL. Damn. NP!
I love those old VFRs, I think they look great and aged well.

I seem to recall you telling me that the VFR’s were pigs and not your style. LOL. When that bug bites, it bites hard. I’ve had a 4th gen and currently own a 5th gen and they are awesome bikes. Rock those NACA’s and that 8 spoker all the way. I love it. There is nothing smoother on 2 wheels
than a GDC Honda V4, nothing sounds better either.

Nice!
I do kinda wish I’d done my trip on a beater VFR, at least for some points. Sport tourers never made sens e to me until doing a multi day tour.

And no speedo... and no odometer... and clip ons for most of my ownership.
I did a few overnight trips on it, but nothing like what I just did. It would have been hateful without wind protection.

As someone who coveted one badly until it came here let me put it as follows - it’s a 1500$+ premium for an FZ-07 that gains nothing but some cafe racer-ish bits. Keep in mind, FZ-07s are read ily available new and used so the deals are better on them as a whole still. My local dealership sold their XSRs at near MSRP while the FZs go for 500-1000$ under MSRP which is already much cheaper to boot. I can’t see a single reason to spend the 25% premium on the XSR when the FZ is the same bike for so much less.
If you really want something like the XSR700 then get an FZ-07 and do your own mods for less.

I covet this bike quite badly.
Incidentally - opinions on a PC800 for 800$ USD that needs tires?

Not for me as a personal steed, but possible flip or maybe for a friend.
I’m getting the trophy 1200 I’ve been posting about.

I just don’t see many in general so I was tempted....But right now the motorcycle market in my area is overflowing with cheap hardware. Plenty of cruisers and standards are going for way less than they normally would. So it’d have to sit for a while anyways.

As an aside - my initial research has brought me to the conclusion that the 1200 motor in the late 90s triumph trophy was pretty solid and reliable, if a little bland due to the detuning.
My overall impression of triumphs in the late 90s/early 2000s was of rather poor quality that wasn’t fixed until the late 2000s. What is the truth? I figure you’re not a triumph apologist so it’d be a nice outside view. And I don’t think this bike will be a problem child given that it seems like it has the mileage that matches the stories told about it (summer bike in the midwest for people. Garaged for winters and sometimes for a year or two).

triumphs never really had issues with the motors per say. they were actually quite strong.
their problems were electrical and hard to find/s
ource parts.
I would do a little digging into the repairs and order the parts NOW to have them ready as a just in case. If you never need them, you might be able to help a fellow triumph man on the forum/facebook page out in a jam.

Gotcha. I noticed the trophy seemed to lack electric features which was noted as both a minus since it lacked features but a plus since it meant there were fewer options for it to screw up.
